Bruce Kidder of Newark, NY, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a prolonged illness. Bruce's graveside service will be on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at 11 a.m. at East Newark Cemetery.

Bruce was a skilled carpenter and craftsman whose career spanned decades and continents. He began his professional life in local construction before joining a Timber Framing Company, where his expertise took him to Canada to build a covered bridge and to Russia to construct a boathouse. He later relocated to Miami, where he served as Superintendent for a major construction company, overseeing the building of commercial franchise locations across the United States. Wherever his work took him, Bruce's meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship earned the respect of those around him. His legacy lives on in the countless residential and commercial properties throughout Wayne County and the surrounding region that bear the mark of his skilled hands.

Bruce was a generous friend and a genuine presence in every community he touched. He had a natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life and cultivated lasting friendships wherever he traveled. His commitment to community was evident through his active membership in the Lyons Rod and Gun Club, where he spent many hours pursuing his passion for shooting sports and sharing his talents as a craftsman.

Bruce is survived by his son, Bret (Patrick) Furlong; his siblings, Michael (JoAnn) Kidder and Kym (Greg) Triplett; close friends; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Grace and Louis Kidder, and his loving companion, Mary Salerno, whose son Daniel survives him.

A craftsman in work and in life, Bruce's legacy endures in the quality of his creations and the lives he touched.
