Waterloo: Helen Marie Curry Patsos, 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, May 4, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 42 East Main Street, Waterloo. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterloo.

Helen’s family warmly invites everyone to continue celebrating her life with a luncheon at the church following the burial.

Born on September 2, 1937, in Waterloo, Helen was the daughter of the late Chester and Doris (Kuney) Wagner. She was a proud 1955 graduate of Waterloo High School.

Helen worked many jobs throughout her life, wearing “many hats” with dedication and pride. Before retiring from the GAP Outlet in 2009, she had also served as a secretary at Goulds Pumps, a cashier at Curry’s Appliances, and a custodian at Seneca Foods.

She enjoyed camping, gardening, and birdwatching, and she had a lifelong love for cats and dogs. Helen was a former Deacon of the Waterloo Presbyterian Church. She also cherished the years she spent riding her beloved horse, Dandy.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Kim M. (John) Tiaskkun and Cynthia A. (Les) Gales; her sons, Christopher Curry and Jeffery Curry; her sister, Laura Keyes; her brother, David (Phyllis) Wagner; her grandchildren, Amanda Tiaskkun, Haley (Micah) Bruder, Nick (Sarah) Tiaskkun, Lindsey Gales, and Will (Hannah) Gales; her great-grandchildren, Hana, Halia, Elijah, Aurora, Waylon, and one expected; and eight stepchildren from the Patsos family.

She was predeceased by her first husband, William “Bill” Curry (2002), and her second husband, James Patsos (2016); her parents; her sisters, Joyce (Charles) Yost and Dorothy (Donald) Wolfe; her brother-in-law, John Keys; and her stepdaughter, Margaret Patsos.
