Gloria J. Jackson

Gloria J. Jackson, 91, of Duryea Street, Moravia, passed away March 3, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Gloria lived her entire life on Duryea Street, with the exception of 2 years when Willard was stationed in Florida while in the Navy. Gloria was a 1951 graduate of Moravia Central School. She graduated from CCBI in Syracuse in 1952 and married her high school sweetheart Willard in 1953. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage.

Gloria was employed for 45 years at W.E. Kilborne Agency, Moravia, prior to retirement in 2006. She was very active in the community and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Locke & Moravia, Order of Eastern Star #330, and the Niles Senior Citizens.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 72 years, Willard Jackson; her children—Stephen Jackson (Cheryl), Karen Porter, Robin Sheehan (Tim); her grandchildren—Ryan, Ben (Brooke), Nicole (Charlie), Jim, Kathleen, Eric (Wendy), Maura; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alton W. and Hilda Rosecrans Andrews; brother Marvin Andrews; and son-in-law Glenn Porter.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Wades Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, March 9, 2026, at Christ United Methodist Church of Locke & Moravia, 36 Church St., Moravia, at 11:00 am. An Eastern Star Service will be at 11:00, and a reception will follow the services at the Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in New Hope Rural Cemetery, New Hope, NY.
