Frances M. Poulsen
Frances M. "Fran" Poulsen, age 90, longtime resident of Ovid and Interlaken, and of Waterloo for the past 20 years, died at Geneva General Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Fran was born in Seneca Falls on June 25, 1935, a daughter of the late James and Monica (nee McCarrigher) Martin. She was a 1953 graduate of Ovid Central School and had a long career as a bank teller at First National Bank of Ovid, which then merged with Horizon Bank and later became Community Bank, retiring in 1997. She was married to Art Poulsen in 1979, and together they operated Poulsen's Greenhouse in Interlaken until 2005 when they moved to Waterloo.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to a huge group and made it her life's mission to foster a loving and caring home with fantastic meals and memories for everyone.
She is survived by her children: Tom (Cheryl) Poormon of Waterloo, William (Holly) Poormon of Punta Gorda, FL, Julie (Steve) Branom of Winter Garden, FL, and Vicki (Ron Darling) Wilson of Canoga, and numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Art Poulsen; her siblings, Paul, Tom, and Helen; and the father of her children, William Poormon.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Covert Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to Noon. A scripture service will then be held at Noon, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ovid.
