Floyd Ellis Whitfield AKA "Thug"

GENEVA – Floyd Ellis Whitfield AKA "Thug", 69, passed away suddenly Friday, May 1, 2026, at his home. Floyd was born in Unadilla, Georgia, to the late Fletcher Lee Whitfield and Lillie Mae Walker. Throughout his life, he carried a strong spirit, real loyalty, and a presence that could never be ignored. If you knew Floyd, then you knew he stood on respect, family, love, and good vibes. He lived life his own way — authentic, solid, and unapologetically himself.

Floyd was a man known for his laughter, stories, wisdom, and the energy he brought into every room. He never needed a suit to stand out — a fresh sweatsuit, confidence, and being himself was always enough. To many, he was more than family or a friend — he was "Thug," an original who believed in loyalty and keeping it real with the people he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher Lee Whitfield and Lillie Mae Walker; his brother Jimmy Whitfield; and his sister Janice Marie Whitfield.

He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Sue Wicksaw; his sons, Emerson Whitfield and Rayshawn Whitfield; brothers Alfonso J. Whitfield, John Whitfield, Leonard Fletcher Whitfield, George Walker Jr., and Ira Odell Miner; sisters Louise McCray, Carol Denise Whitfield, Jane Power, and Leeautry Randford; his beloved grandchildren, Armani "Jefe" Whitfield and Yazmina "Boo Boo" Whitfield; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva, NY. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial following in Glenwood Cemetery.

The family asks that everyone honor Floyd the way he would have wanted — come comfortable, come with love, and come ready to celebrate the life of a man who left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

Gone but never forgotten. Long live Thug.
