Fay F. Bryant

Oneonta, NY January 14, 1942 – February 4, 2026 Age 84

Fay Frances Bryant, 84, passed away peacefully at Thompson Hospital on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, just before midnight.

Born to Lee J. Bryant and Edith Bogart Bryant in Oneonta, NY, on January 14, 1942, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lee T. Bryant. She graduated from Oneonta High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree of Science in Education from Geneseo University.

Earning a teacher's certificate, she became a special education teacher starting in Bloomfield and retired from the Victor School District in June 2000. In speaking about Fay the teacher, her cousin Lynn said she helped and taught children that some would not notice or have the patience to help. Honestly, she was the loveliest, most giving, and caring woman in the world.

A lover of nature and animals, she enjoyed sitting on her back porch smelling the fresh flowers and feeling the warm sunshine. In the last years, her eyesight failed her, but she continued to enjoy the colors of the season - Fall, Christmas, and Spring. She loved many pets through the years including Lily Gail, Buddy, Sabrina, Gonzo, Ben, and Jack.

She was an avid collector of bunnies, McKenzie Child, and Beanie Babies. These things interested her, but she valued the friendships she made through the years the most.

A lover of music and artistry, her Apple Music account was full of opera and classical music which spoke to her soul and lifted her spirits. Her home was decorated with her collections, her handmade dolls she made, and art paintings she collected. She even expressed herself by drawing and learning the piano in her later years.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Karen Bryant, and many cousins including Nancy Beppler, Laurie Beppler, Linda Allen, David Newhart, Diane Beppler, Steve Beppler, and Amy Staab.

Her neighbors, Brian and Carol Donner, became a second family to her. She was loved by them and their children Corey, Jennifer, Christian (Krista), and Meghan (Alex). Meghan's children (Andrew, Noah, and Hannah) called her Grandma Fay and held a special place in her heart.

Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 30th, at 10 AM at St. Paul of the Cross, Honeoye Falls. Inurnment will follow at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery.
