Eugene W. Teed
Eugene W. Teed, age 79, of Dansville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Born November 25, 1946, in Wayland, Gene was the son of the late Ward E. & Thelma (Kern) Teed. He was a graduate of Wayland Central School where he set records with the swimming & diving teams. He started his first business, Gene Teed Tool Company, when returning from service duty and later in life he continued his love for woodwork with his second business, Teed Enterprise Plus.
He was very dedicated to his community, serving with the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Returning home, he continued with the Wayland Fire Department for several years, serving as Ambulance Captain for 17 years, Fire Police, as well as one of two Fire Wardens under Bill Beaman. Additionally, he was recognized for having five successful suicide talk downs being called in by police where guns or knives were involved. Gene dedicated time to the American Red Cross, Chapter 1, the American Heart Foundation, and served as Chapter Chairman for 2 years, as well as the Rochester Regional board for the Red Cross. He was proud of being an EMT Instructor and a First Aid Instructor Trainer, teaching others to become instructors.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and time outdoors on his property, especially with his children and grandchildren. He had many classic cars over the years he enjoyed building and restoring, and later his tractors. Spending time with his family is what he loved most of all. Throughout his years, he continued to share his faith with all.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Charles Kota, as well as several aunts & uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife Nadine (Belanger); his children Tamara (Jerrod) Demeurisse, Jeremy (Lisa) Teed, Jennifer (Jacob Cullen) Goodwin, Leanne (Jeff) Fulkrod, son-in-law Justin Goodwin; his grandchildren Emily & Jayden Demeurisse, Hannah Teed, Zacharie Goodwin, Zayden Teed, Avery & Zandria Fulkrod, honorary grandchildren Evan Sedore & Andrew Rader; his siblings Marlene (Mike) Monfuletho, Beverly Kota, and Wayne (Debbie) Teed, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 11th at 12 PM at The Kingdom Hall, Dansville, followed by a gathering immediately after at the Wayland Fire Department.
