Eileen Ann Donohue, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Eileen was funny, spirited, and full of life, always smiling, telling jokes, and making friends wherever she went. Her wonderful laugh and warm personality brought joy to everyone around her.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, Eileen attended St. Gabriel High School before raising her family on Long Island. She later moved to Naples, where she spent 25 years with her husband John.

Throughout her life, Eileen devoted herself to caring for others, first as a mother, later working alongside John in their book bindery business, and eventually as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In every role, she brought warmth, compassion, and her wonderful sense of humor to those around her.

Eileen shared nearly 32 wonderful years with her beloved husband, John Simmon. She was a loving and devoted mother to Tommy and Shannon (Michael), loving stepmother to John, Steven, and Jeff (Kelly), and proud grandmother of Lauren, Ryan, Jack, Erin, John, Jocelyn, Jack, and Jenna. She is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved son John, as well as her parents, John and Marie Capps, her sister Joyce, and her brother John.

She loved traveling, cruising, reading, yoga, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Avow Hospice for the kindness, dignity, and care they provided to Eileen. The family will celebrate her life privately and asks that those wishing to honor Eileen’s memory consider a donation to Avow Hospice in gratitude for the compassionate care they provided.

Eileen will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the happiness she brought to so many.
