Donna L. Brier

Donna L. Brier, 89, of Cayuga, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Finger Lakes Center for Living. She was born in Auburn, NY, on April 13, 1937, to the late Richard Shreve and to the late Onnolee Ripley.

She is survived by children: Scott (Jackie) Brier, Russell (Suzanne) Brier, Barbara Brier, Heidi Boudrias, Renee (Glenn) Stokes, and like a son, Grant (Lori) Miller. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four nieces, and one nephew. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her loving husband Carleton Brier, sister Beverly Shreve, her son-in-law Allan Boudrias, and granddaughter Dennisha Davis.

Donna enjoyed life. She and Carleton raised a beautiful family. They traveled, rode their bicycles, and went on hikes in many state parks in New York State. They often went camping during the summer months. They had wonderful friends in Cayuga, where they had their home since 1967. Many vacations and holidays included their special, long-time friends, Alex and Pat Jones, whose three children became like family to them and to their children. Alex and Pat have since gone on to be with the Lord. They are greatly missed.

Donna was a diligent, organized, dedicated individual. She worked at a telephone company in Auburn, in the Union Springs School District as an assistant to the high school librarian, and at the Ward O'Hara Agricultural Museum. She was the typist for the books that the late Ward O'Hara published. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years and singing in the choirs in the churches she attended. She loved the Lord, her family, and was an encouragement and a blessing to many people whose lives she touched.

There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Freedom Baptist Church, 3324 E. Genesee Street, Auburn, with a committal to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga.
