David E. Shattuck

Sodus, NY January 15, 1948 – March 30, 2026 Age 78

David E. Shattuck, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his daughter Samantha’s home, surrounded by his loving family.

A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held Saturday, April 4, at 1:00 PM at Sodus Rural Cemetery, Route 88, Sodus.

Born on January 15, 1948, in Syracuse, David was the son of the late Eric I. and Alma G. (Smith) Shattuck. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970. Upon returning home, he worked briefly at Kodak in Rochester before joining the Wayne County Egg Farm in Wolcott, where he served as a laying house attendant for many years. David enjoyed deer hunting and collecting Hess trucks.

David is survived by his daughters Samantha (Felipe Osorio Ortiz, Sr.) Osorio, Shannon (Dale) Burnette, and Stacy (Robert) Hindt; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Alma; his granddaughter, Sophia Mae Osorio Ortiz, on September 1, 2022; and his former wife, Kathleen A. (Fix) Shattuck, in 2003.

David will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to family, and the gentle way he moved through life.
