Claire Ann Merrick

Claire A. Merrick of Mendon, NY, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026. Born in Haverhill, MA, Claire was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1960. Throughout her life, she held a variety of administrative roles, earning the respect of colleagues with her dedication and reliability. However, her most cherished role was as co-owner of Mendon Pet Supply, where she formed lasting friendships with customers and their beloved pets. One of her great passions in life was her beloved Springer Spaniels; she was almost never without one, and sometimes two. She leaves behind one of her favorites, Finley.

In her younger years, she loved traveling, going to the beach, and camping. Later in life, she followed the music of Lee DeWyze and made many friendships traveling to his concerts.

She is survived by her sister, Norma Paltinavich (David); children, Dennis Bly (Sheri) and Lisa Connolly (Jim); her cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Danielle, Zachary, Thomas, and Lauren; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia. She was predeceased by her son, Barry.

The family will hold a celebration of life to honor Claire, and additional details will be shared in the coming weeks.
