Carol E. Gent, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Carol was born November 12, 1938, in Sodus, NY, to Wilfred and Elizabeth Hill. She was a proud graduate of Sodus Central School. Carol lived her life to the fullest and found great joy in cooking, volunteering, and playing the piano at local nursing homes and churches. She had a generous spirit and spent much of her life helping and caring for others. Carol loved her dog, jewelry, and spending time in the kitchen, where she became known as a fantastic cook. She had a special way of making people smile with her comfort food.

Carol is survived by her daughters Cheryl (Rick) Condon and Amy (Dale) Toye; grandchildren Jason (Aimee) Condon, Justin and Nichole Condon, Josh (Marianna) Toye, and Jessica (Jon-Ross) Gansz; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; a sister Janice (Jack) Stone; a brother Lee (Shirley) Hill; and several nieces and cousins.

Friends and family are welcome to call at the Woodlane Community Church, 5694 Woodlane, Newark, NY, on Friday, March 13th, at 11 AM. Following the service, everyone is welcome to join us at Fork and Flame Pizzeria, 5716 Rt. 14, Alton, NY.
