Betty Elias Pirozzi

GENEVA – Betty Elias Pirozzi, 91, of Geneva, passed away on May 4, 2026, at Wayne County Nursing Home, Lyons, NY. Born in Geneva, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Amelia (Sahaid) Elias.

Betty was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1952. She began her professional career with the New York Telephone Company, where she served for 15 years, rising to the position of Chief Operator. Devoted to her family above all, she stepped away from her career to raise her children. She later returned to the workforce, joining the Geneva City School District as a Teacher’s Aide, a role she held with dedication from 1986 to 2004.

A faithful member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Betty was a woman of deep faith and enduring love. Those who knew her best knew her as someone whose love for her family was, simply put, eternal.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Stephanie) and their children Sophia and Maia; daughter, Stacie Pirozzi (Michael Swartz); her brothers, David (Barbara) and Daniel (Terry). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent, the love of her life.

Betty’s family would like to give a special thank you to the loving staff at Ashton Place in Clifton Springs and Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons for their unending love and support for Betty and our entire family.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at DeVaney – Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 am in St. Stephen’s Church, 48 Pulteney St., Geneva, NY. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish in Geneva, NY.
