Bertha M. Cartwright

Bertha passed away peacefully at Clifton Springs Hospital on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her parents, Bertha and Fernando Sanchez; sister-in-laws: Emma Jean, Sue, and Martha; brother-in-law Donald; and son-in-law Chris.

Bertha was born in Cuba and came to the US with her family. She graduated from Waverly High School in Waverly, NY. Eventually, Bertha settled in Sodus, NY, and Pahrump, NV.

Bertha was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day; she brought light to everyone around her.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 47 years, Wilfred Cartwright, Jr.; daughter Michelle (Ben); grandchildren Anne Marie (Erin) and Justin; her brother Fernando (Byrun) of Pahrump, NV; brother-in-law Gary (Diana) of Sodus; several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins; and a multitude of family and friends from Walmart, Dynalec, Seneca Foods, and the Sodus & Pahrump Communities.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Sodus Center Firehall, 5521 Main Street, Sodus NY 14551, from 3-7pm.
