Waterloo Welcomes Home State Champion Girls Basketball Team

Waterloo Village residents turned out Sunday morning for a parade and ceremonies at the high school gym to welcome home their New York State Champion Girl’s Basketball team.

The Waterloo Lady Tigers outscored Putnam Valley 29-9 in the fourth quarter to win the New York State Class B championship 58-48 at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday.

It is the first state championship in girls basketball for the school. Next up is the Federation Tournament next weekend.
