Newark Mayor Ras Baraka announced Tuesday morning that the city is filing a lawsuit that seeks to close of Delaney Hall, the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility that he and activists allege is housing detainees in poor living conditions and without adequate medical care.
The Department of Homeland Security has repeatedly denied the allegations and decried the protests that have taken place outside the facility.
