Yates County Seeks Applicants for Natural & Recreational Resources Grant

As travelers around the world continue to discover the Finger Lakes Region as the multifaceted, world-class, tourist destination it is, Yates County is excited to help local communities and organizations protect and interact with all the natural charm of this region.

The Yates County 2023 Natural and Recreational Resources Grant seeks projects from both local governments and private organizations that not only look to preserve unique landscapes and areas but also projects that provide interactions and experiences with those natural wonders.

“We are happy to offer this funding for projects in our county that can help protect, preserve, or responsibly develop our natural and recreational resources,” says Nonie Flynn, Yates County Executive. “There is beauty here in Yates County, every season of the year, and projects that can help us share that beauty with our citizens and visitors is exactly what we are looking for.”

Funding awards require a 50% match except in rare circumstances. The match may be comprised of additional funding from other parties or in-kind services.

The deadline for applications is January 24th at 4 pm.

Interested parties can find the grant application, as well as the grant policy information, on the Yates County Planning Department Webpage Page. Applications may be submitted digitally to [email protected]
