The former owners of the Showboat Motel on Seneca Lake had a special treat for one local law enforcement agency this week. Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike says Mark Cronin and Matt Collins donated $5,280 to the office’s K9 Unit.

The motel has acted as a “home base” for K9 teams and trainers during the sheriff’s office’s annual K9 seminar.

The money will be used to support training, equipment, and operations for handlers and their K9 partners.
