The Food Bank of the Southern Tier and Wegmans are teaming up for Fill the Bus, a community-wide campaign to fight child hunger across the Southern Tier. From now until June 18th, customers can donate $2, $3, $5 at checkout to help provide non-perishable food items for local children at risk of hunger this summer.

Child hunger spikes during the summer months when school meal programs pause. “Fill the Bus” helps ensure local children have access to the nutritious food they need when school is out.

Participating Wegmans stores include:
• Elmira – 1100 Clemens Center Pkwy, Elmira, NY 14901
• Johnson City – 650 Harry L Drive, Johnson City, NY 13790
• Ithaca – 500 S Meadow St, Ithaca, NY 14850
• Hornell – 1000 Highway 36 N, Hornell, NY 14843
• Corning – 24 S Bridge St, Corning, NY 14830

The Food Bank’s service area includes Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins, Broome, Chemung, and Tioga counties, covering nearly 4,000 square miles. Its partnership with member agencies across its service area is crucial to its mission, as they ensure the food it acquires and distributes to the people who need it most.
