The Village of Watkins Glen is warning residents about a phishing scam involving a compromised employee email account.
Officials say the email of Water Department Supervisor Meghan Fox was hacked, and fraudulent messages are being sent in her name. The scam email appears to come from Meghan Fox [email protected] with the subject line “Proposal_Settlement_*”** and contains a suspicious PDF link.
Residents are urged not to click on the link and to delete the email immediately if they receive it.
