Two Steuben County Bridges to Close Next Week

Steuben County Department of Public Works Commissioner Eric Rose has announced the upcoming closure of two county bridges for necessary infrastructure improvements. The closures, scheduled to begin on Monday, will affect bridges in the Town of Prattsburgh and the Town of Rathbone.

Town of Prattsburgh Bridge Closure:

Location: Bean Station Road over Five Mile Creek

Closure Area: Between Muck Road and State Route 53

Duration: Approximately 14 weeks

Detour Route: State Route 53, Waldo Road, County Route 77, and Muck Road

Town of Rathbone Bridge Closure:

Location: Over the North Branch of Tuscarora Creek

Closure Area: Between County Route 81 and Derby Hill Road

Duration: Approximately 7 weeks

Detour Route: Derby Hill Road

According to the County, these closures are necessary for essential repairs to maintain safety and reliability. Motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs and plan for potential delays.
