Hall and Spike, two longtime Yates County employees, are set to retire Friday.

The careers of two long-serving employees of Yates County will come to an end on Friday. After 20 years, Lois Hall will retire as County Clerk. At Thursday’s year-end Legislature meeting, legislator Richard Willson paid tribute to Hall, who spent at least a dozen years with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Willson also paid tribute to Sheriff Ron Spike, who is retiring after 53 years.

Molly Linehan will succeed Hall as County Clerk and Frank Ryan will become the county’s first new Sheriff in more than 30 years
