A portion of Route 14 between Nutt and Travis Road in the town of Torrey was shut down for about an hour on Monday following a two-car accident at the Anthony Road intersection.

An investigation determined Thomas Anderson, of Elma, New York, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection when attempting to head south on Route 14. His car collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Elizabeth Worthington, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Anderson was ticketed for failure to yield.

Anderson’s passenger, 67-year-old Mary O’Neil, of Elma, and Worthington suffered leg, chest, and face injuries.  Both were taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.

Penn Yan Ambulance, Medica 62, the Dresden Fire Department, and the Yates County Office of Emergency Management assisted the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
