Yates County Public Health wants to remind residents about rabies prevention after two stray cats recently tested positive for the virus – one in the Penn Yan area and one in Dundee. Several people who were exposed to these cats have started rabies treatment as a precaution.

Public Health reminds residents that stray cats often don’t get rabies shots and can get sick from the virus.
