Two people were injured in a two-car crash in Yates County Friday night.

It happened just before six o’clock at the intersection of State Route 54 and Pre-Emption Road in Benton. According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office’s initial investigation Guido Cannata, of Cicero, apparently failed to yield the right way at the stop sign on Pre-Emption and struck a car driven by Brian Dillon, of Dresden, that was headed west on Route 54.

Dillion was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for neck pain and a passenger in his car was taken to the same hospital for back pain.

Charges are still pending the outcome of the investigation.
