While some of its neighboring counties have issued states of emergency in the last two weeks over the anticipation of an influx of asylum seekers, and illegal immigrants to the region, Steuben County released a statement on Tuesday explaining why it hasn’t followed suit.

Yates County declared a State of Emergency on Monday and Schuyler County issued its first state of emergency on May 11th.
