State Releases Audit on Yates County Court and Trust Funds

An audit conducted by the State Comptroller’s Office examined whether Yates County officials implemented proper controls to safeguard and account for court and trust funds over three years starting in January 2022. The audit uncovered several key findings, including that the county treasurer delayed transferring almost $45,000 of abandoned property to the State Comptroller for three years.
