Law enforcement agencies from throughout Steuben County took part in the annual Shop With a Cop community outreach program.

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard said the program allows Law Enforcement Officers to engage with young people in the community in a positive way by helping children from underprivileged families with their shopping for holiday gifts.

In addition to their shopping, the participants also enjoyed food, activities, and a visit from Santa Claus.

“It was a great day for the children and the Officers alike,” said Sheriff Allard.

In addition to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Hornell, Canisteo, and North Hornell Police Departments as well as New York State Police took part in the “Shop With a Cop” event.
