Schuyler County Woman Gets Prison for Burglaries

A Montour Falls woman who was convicted last month of committing multiple burglaries within Schuyler County and damaging stolen property will spend time in state prison.

35-year-old Virginia Taft was found guilty of burglary and criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies. Taft was sentenced by Schuyler County Judge Matthew Hayden to 2-to-6 years behind bars on the burglary conviction and 1-to-3 years on the criminal possession charge. The sentences will run concurrently.

Taft was also ordered to pay restitution.
