Students and staff at St. Michael’s School in Penn Yan came together on Monday to honor veterans during a special Veterans Day ceremony.

The event featured Hon. Pat Falvey, who shared reflections on his time serving in Vietnam and the bonds formed with his fellow soldiers. Students also heard from Alicia Slate and Eduardo Gonzalez, veterans of multiple conflicts, including Desert Storm, who reminded attendees that Veterans Day is a time to express gratitude to those who have served.

Students sang the official songs of each branch of the military, and the school celebrated the U.S. Marines’ 250th birthday. The ceremony concluded with a salute from the Penn Yan American Legion Honor Guard.

The annual event is part of St. Michael’s ongoing efforts to teach students about service, sacrifice, and community appreciation.
