The investigation into a Saturday night motorcycle accident on State Route 14A in Yates County is continuing.

55-year-old Erik Schuerholz was traveling north near Milo Center Road when police say he attempted to pass cars that were in front of him. An initial investigation determined Schuerholz was traveling too fast when passing over the rumble strips and lost control of his motorcycle.

The Penn Yan resident was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for back pain as well as cuts to his hip, knee, and hand.

Charges are pending.
