Penfield Man Killed in Steuben County Plane Crash

A small plane crash in Steuben County has claimed the life of a Penfield man.

New York State Police say the crash occurred around 7 Friday night on Morton Hill Road in the town of Hornellsville. The pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, 41-year-old Brian Valder, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the plane had departed from the Brockport area before going down.

Emergency personnel and investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board responded to the scene.
