Pavement Rehab Project Underway on Route 54 in Barrington

A pavement rehabilitation project is now underway on State Route 54 in the Town of Barrington. The New York State Department of Transportation says the work, which began this week, is expected to continue through the end of August.

During construction, traffic is reduced to a single lane with alternating flow, controlled by a temporary traffic signal. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.

DOT officials remind motorists to slow down and use caution in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding, and multiple violations can result in the suspension of a driver’s license.

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
