Palmesano to Host Rural Equity Forum in Bath Monday

The Steuben County Legislative Chambers will be the location of a rural equity forum on Monday hosted by local Assemblyman Phil Palmesano.  Scheduled to attend:

            Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks)

            Assemblyman Chris Friend (R,C-Big Flats)

            Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia)

            Assemblyman Joe Angelino (R,C-Norwich)

            Sen. Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats)

            Local community stakeholders

According to organizers, the 2 p.m. forum will be a discussion with stakeholders from local government, economic development, internet/broadband and energy providers, human service providers, law enforcement, and education officials on different ways to help rural areas thrive, including state assistance for rural communities, rural mental health challenges, and issues, expanding broadband access, rural school transportation, reducing rural poverty and the impacts of the Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) mandates
