A body was recovered from a creek near Taughannock Falls in Ithaca on early Monday morning.
According to the Trumansburg Fire Department, they responded along with law enforcement and State Park Police to the Taughannock Gorge at the State Park late Sunday night after a person reportedly fell in. The body was found about a quarter mile above the Falls. The individual was removed from the gorge by the fire department’s high-angle rope system.
State Police and Park Police are investigating the incident and will provide more information as it is made available.
