Daniel Nolan was officially sworn in on Thursday as the newest member of the Tompkins County Legislature, representing District 3 in the City of Ithaca.

Nolan, a Democrat, ran unopposed in a recent special election to fill the seat left vacant by Susan Currie, who stepped down in March.

“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to once again serve the people of Tompkins County and to represent my friends and neighbors in Belle Sherman and South Hill,” said Nolan. “Though my time on the Legislature will be limited, I look forward to making the most of it and working with my colleagues to take on the pressing issues that continue to face our County.”

Chair of the Legislature Dan Klein added, “The Tompkins County Legislature welcomes Dan Nolan as he joins our ranks. There are many big issues we are working on, and Dan will have his work cut out for him to get up to speed on them all.”

Nolan will serve the remainder of her term, which ends later this year.
