The new Yates County Emergency Medical Services unit is gearing up to go into service next month.

According to a post on its Facebook page, the graphics and lettering on a second ambulance were put on it this week and stretchers were delivered one month ahead of schedule. They’ll receive their New York State inspection in less than three weeks.

The new county-operated ambulance service will have a staff of six full-time and three part-time paramedics as well as EMTs.

The county ordered one new and three used ambulances for the new service that would augment the existing system in the county.
