The inaugural Odessa Community Day, a celebration of our local community, is set to take place on August 17th, from 12-7pm on Church Street. Organizers say this free event promises a day filled with fun, entertainment, and community spirit for all ages.

Odessa Community Day, Presented by Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce, will kick off with Holly Campbell performing the Star-Spangled Banner. From 12-4pm, children can enjoy free face painting and activities sponsored by the Dutton S. Peterson Memorial Library, as well as free balloon creations by Amazing Pete. Live music will play from 12-3pm, and from 4-7pm.

A standout feature of Odessa Community Day is the touch-a-truck event, running from 12-4pm. Families will have the unique opportunity to step inside and explore local community vehicles, including a fire truck, ambulance, garbage truck, and police car, and learn how these vehicles contribute to the safety and well-being of our community.

In addition to these activities, the festival will host a variety of craft, nonprofit, and food vendors lining the festival area. Attendees can browse unique crafts, learn about local nonprofit initiatives, and enjoy delicious food from local vendors.

The event is completely free to attend. Parking will be available at the Odessa Montour Falls School, ensuring easy access for everyone.
