Multiple people were injured Tuesday night in a two-car accident at the intersection of Second Milo and Bath Road just outside of the village of Penn Yan.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year old Mark Cronin of Horseheads failed to stop at the intersection and struck a car driven by 23-year old Zachary Bailey of Dundee, causing his car to roll over.

Zachary Bailey and his seven passengers, including 24-year old Kacie Bailey and six minors, were taken via helicopters and ambulances to Soldiers and Sailors and Strong Memorial Hospitals for their injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and Cronin was charged with DWI common law, Vehicular Assault, and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.
