The Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development, alongside the Watkins Glen Downtown Revitalization Initiative Local Planning Committee and the Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce, will host a groundbreaking ceremony at Clute Park on Wednesday to celebrate the final project under New York State’s DRI program and to introduce new ADA-compliant playground equipment to the park, enhancing accessibility for children of all abilities.

The 1:30 p.m. ceremony will be held at Clute Park on State Route 414 and will include remarks from local and state leaders, though the list of speakers is not yet finalized. Expected attendees include Senator Thomas O’Mara, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, Schuyler County Legislature Chairman Carl Blowers, and Harris Weiss from the NYS Executive Chamber, among others.

This initiative marks the culmination of efforts to revitalize downtown Watkins Glen, with the new playground representing a commitment to inclusivity and community engagement in public spaces.
