An evidentiary hearing on Greenidge Generation’s application to renew its Title Five air permit has again been postponed.

The administrative law judge in the DEC evidentiary case granted Greenidge’s request for a delay until November 18, 19th, and 20th, if necessary. The hearings were originally set for early June and were postponed until later that month, only to be rescheduled to yesterday.

Greenidge, which operates a natural gas-powered Bitcoin mining facility in the town of Torrey on Seneca Lake, has been fighting the DEC’s 2022 denial of its air permit. A February appellate court decision denied Greenidge’s request to pause administrative proceedings, even as it challenges a lower court ruling that found legal errors in the DEC’s denial but allowed the agency to restart its review.
