One person is dead after a house fire in the village of Penn Yan.
The fire broke out shortly after six Sunday morning at Spruce Acres on North Avenue. Penn Yan, Himrod, and Benton fire departments responded to the scene with manpower and equipment, while Branchport-Keuka Park firefighters provided standby coverage.
The Yates County Fire Investigation Team is looking into the cause.
The victim of the fire has not been identified.
