A fatal one-car accident that happened Thursday night in the Yates County town of Milo is under investigation.
An initial investigation determined Robert Bassett, Junior, of Dundee, was driving south on Lakemont Himrod Road when his car left the road and struck a tree. Bassett was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by New York State Police, Himrod Fire, Penn Yan Ambulance, Yates County Office of Emergency Management, Yates County Highway, and the Yates County Coroner’s Office.
