A Dundee man will spend almost a dozen years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

On October 24, a Yates County Jury returned a Guilty verdict on all four Counts of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree (class D Violent Felony) against Shane Gage.  On four separate occasions, over a period of years, Gage allegedly touched the sexual or intimate parts of a child while she was sleeping, for the purpose of his sexual gratification.

According to the Yates County District Attorney’s Office, Gage was sentenced last month, after a compelling statement by the victim, to an aggregate sentence of 11.5 years in a New York State Correctional Facility plus 10 years Post-Release supervision, Sex Offender Registration, and a final stay away order of protection.
