The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) on Friday announced the reopening of the Severne Point Boat Launch Access Site on Seneca Lake in the town of Himrod.

The Severne Point Boat Launch Access Site was temporarily closed in early June due to dangerous stormwater levels and adverse launch conditions.

Boaters are reminded to use caution when launching boats and inspect all areas carefully for potential hazards such as floating debris. To report boat launch concerns, contact Region 8 Fisheries at (585) 226-5343 or [email protected].
