Representatives from Corning Incorporated and the Foodbank of the Southern Tier pose with a $185,000 check for school food centers in the Southern Tier region.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier says it’s received a major boost from Corning Incorporated — a $185,000 grant to support its eight School Food Centers in Chemung and Steuben Counties.

The funding will help keep the school-based pantries stocked with nutritious food for students and families who rely on them throughout the year.

The Food Bank says the grant not only sustains a vital program but also strengthens its broader mission to fight hunger across the Southern Tier.
