The public is encouraged to come out next week to honor a U.S. Army veteran who will be laid to rest in Steuben County.

PFC Gerald C. Mazzo, who served in the Army from 1979 to 1981, passed away on November 15, 2025, with no family to claim him. A burial with full military honors will take place on Monday at 1 p.m. at Bath National Cemetery on the Bath VA Medical Center campus.

The service is open to everyone, and community members are invited to attend to help ensure Mazzo receives a dignified and respectful farewell.
