The Bath Volunteer Fire Department shared on its Facebook page some of the issues they encountered on Monday night when more than two inches of rain fell on the area over a short period of time.

In addition to flood roads, culverts and basements, firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to the westbound lanes of Interstate 86 for a car that was sinking in the median. When crews arrived on scene, they found a blue SUV submerged in the median after hitting a spot on the highway where water was flowing over the roadway, causing them to hydroplane.

No injuries were reported.
