Bath Shop Fire Remains Under Investigation

The interior of a shop in Bath shows extensive damage following a recent fire that remains under investigation.

What caused a shop fire in the village of Bath on Thursday afternoon remains under investigation.

At around 4:15 p.m., Bath Fire Units were dispatched to 2 Chestnut St for the report of a shop on fire. Additional calls were made stating the house attached to the shop was on fire.

Bath Assistant Chief Anthony Cilino was first on the scene and found fire coming from the rear of the structure. A Second Alarm assignment was requested. All occupants were reported out of the residence. The fire is currently under investigation.

Units from Bath, The Bath VA, Hammondsport, Kanona, and Bath Ambulance were at the scene. Painted Post Fire was on standby at the Bath Fire Station to cover both the town of Bath and the Bath VA.

All Units were clear of the scene around 6:15 pm.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
