Auburn, Ithaca, and Syracuse have been named some of the most arts-vibrant communities of 2024 in the US.
SMU DataArts assesses the supply, demand, and government support for the arts in each community across the country and publishes a list of the top 40 arts-vibrant communities each year.
For 2024, Ithaca and Syracuse both made the Top 10 Medium Communities list, placing second and tenth respectively. SMU DataArts defines medium communities as having a population of between 100,000 and 1 million people.
For communities with a population under 100,000, Auburn has placed tenth in the top 10 list.
Additionally, Rochester placed 15th in the Top 20 Large Communities list, which is defined as communities with a population of over 1 million.
